Cultivation Timer (“the App”) is developed and operated by Jason Perry (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is stored, and what choices you have. We built Cultivation Timer with privacy as a core principle: your practice data stays local, and the App does not send your exercises, practice sets, sessions, targets, settings, or usage activity to us or to third-party analytics or advertising services. If you choose to contact support by email, your message and any included diagnostics are sent to the support address you choose to email.
During normal use, the App does not automatically collect, transmit, or share any of the following:
The App contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking code of any kind.
The App stores the following data locally on your device to provide its core functionality. This data is stored locally on your device unless you choose to include it in a support message or device backup.
| Data Type | Purpose | Storage Method |
|---|---|---|
| Exercises you create | Save your custom timer configurations | SwiftData (on-device database) |
| Practice sets | Save grouped sequences of exercises | SwiftData (on-device database) |
| Session history | Record completed practice sessions for your statistics | SwiftData (on-device database) |
| Practice targets | Track your practice targets | SwiftData (on-device database) |
| App preferences | Remember your settings and choices (theme, sounds, haptics, volumes, Quick Timer settings, tutorial progress, and which items you keep on the free plan) | UserDefaults (on-device) |
| Session in progress | Restore a timer session if the App closes, and keep practice history that could not be saved right away until it saves | UserDefaults (on-device) |
| Plus access record | Keep Plus available when the App Store can’t be reached: the purchased product, Apple’s transaction identifiers, and purchase and expiration dates | UserDefaults (on-device), signed with a random key kept in this device’s Keychain |
The App does not require you to enter personally identifying information. Some fields, such as exercise names, practice-set descriptions, and manual-session labels, are user-entered, so you control what you choose to save. Exercises and practice sets are identified internally by random UUIDs, not by any user account.
If you contact us for support, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any diagnostics you choose to include. For storage recovery support, the App may prepare an email with app version, bundle identifier, iOS version, and error diagnostics. We use support emails only to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue.
The App offers premium features through subscriptions and one-time purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials. Apple may retain transaction records in accordance with their own data retention policies; we have no control over or access to that data. For information about how Apple handles purchase data, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The App integrates with the following Apple platform service only:
The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media services.
Apple Platform Services: Apple may automatically collect certain diagnostic and performance data (such as crash reports and basic usage statistics) as part of the iOS platform and App Store services. This collection is governed by your device settings and Apple’s Privacy Policy, and is not initiated or controlled by us. We do not receive identifiable user data from these services.
TestFlight Beta Versions: If you install a beta version of the App through Apple’s TestFlight, your use of TestFlight is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Crash reports and any feedback you choose to submit through TestFlight (which may include your email address and screenshots) are shared with us by Apple so we can investigate issues and improve the App. We use this information only for that purpose.
The App uses the following device capabilities:
The App does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, health data, or any other sensitive device capability.
All App data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your data at any time by:
Because your practice data is not stored on our servers, there is no practice data for us to retain or delete on our end. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond to your request and maintain reasonable support records.
If you use iCloud Backup or local device backups (via Finder or iTunes), your backup may include App data stored on your device. These backups are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy practices, not by us.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). The App does not require personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child contacts us for support, we will use that message only to respond to the support request.
Because your practice data remains on your device, there is no cross-border transfer of that data by us. If you send us a support email, your email and any included diagnostics may be processed where our email provider operates.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA/CPRA (California), or other applicable privacy regulations. Because your practice data resides on your device, you can manage most of it directly in the App:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. The App does not track, sell, or share personal information for advertising. If you contact us for support and want help with a privacy request related to that support message, please email us using the contact information below.
If you have questions about your data or wish to exercise any privacy rights, please contact us using the information below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App’s features or applicable legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this page. For material changes - such as introducing any form of data collection or third-party sharing - we will provide at least thirty (30) days’ advance notice through the App or this page before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you should discontinue use of the App before the changes take effect.
